Hardwood: Solid hardwood often cups or warps when wet. If caught early and dried properly, it can sometimes be saved by sanding and refinishing. However, if the boards are blackened or have been wet for a long time, replacement is the only safe option.
Laminate & Vinyl Plank: These floors are less forgiving. Water gets underneath and soaks the core material or subfloor, causing the planks to swell, buckle, and separate. In nearly all cases of significant water exposure, the affected laminate or vinyl flooring must be replaced. The locking mechanisms are usually compromised once they've been saturated.
Covering up a water-damaged floor is a recipe for disaster. Trapped moisture leads directly to mould and mildew growth, which can impact your home's air quality and your family's health. That dampness also slowly degrades the subfloor, weakening the structure of your home over time. A quick fix now will lead to a much bigger, more expensive problem later. Repair expectations: Repair appearance depends on the condition of the surrounding floor and the availability of compatible matching material.

"Having been previously quoted two other times from other contractors, not only was Delight Flooring the most reasonable, they were also the most helpful. We had a quote within 30 mins, and were given lots of options on what type of hardwood/laminate we should install. They were on time, great at communicating, and used to dealing with condo's (a bonus for those with strict riles to adhere to). I would 100% recommend Delight Flooring to anyone as they did an amazing job!"

HomeOwner • 21 Mar 2013 • HomeStars"I did my floor and learn that the stairs are not included because it is a different kind of job that needed to be done. I start looking for a person or company that can complete the stairs job in a timely manner and cost efficient. I receive many quotes but Rudy’s quote was details and easy to understand. After reviewing all quotes, I decide to give the job to Rudy. A bit scared of what will come out of it, Rudy reassure me that my house was his show room and I will be please when is done. Let me say I am not please but over please. Rudy was efficient, extremely professional. He respected my time line as I was expecting my kids that weekend. I would highly recommend using this company, they are all the things you could ask for in a contractor; polite, neat, reasonably priced and timely. Thank you so much again Rudy for all your great work!"
