Plan how the staircase will meet adjacent floors and whether the wood should match or intentionally contrast.
Review posts, handrails and balusters with the stair finish so connected work is planned in the right order.

Old carpet on stairs traps dirt, wears out in paths, and frankly, looks shabby. Worn-out wood treads get scratched, dented, and can become a safety hazard over time. We get straight to the point: we rip out the old material and give you a clean slate. A new hardwood staircase isn't just about looks; it's about getting a durable, easy-to-clean surface that can handle real life.
We build staircases that stand up to daily use. Our material of choice is solid 3/4 inch hardwood—typically oak or maple—because it's tough. These woods resist damage far better than soft woods or laminate products, which we simply don't use on stairs. We make sure every tread and riser is measured, cut, and installed for a tight fit. This precision is what eliminates the squeaks and flexing you get from a rushed job. It's about building something that feels solid every time you use it.
Our method is straightforward. We start by carefully removing your existing flooring and inspecting the underlying structure, or 'stringers'. If there are structural issues, we fix them first because a solid foundation is non-negotiable. Then we install your new hardwood treads, risers, and any new posts or railings. We focus on a clean finish and a structurally sound installation. The result is a staircase that is built for the long haul.

"My project was a little over 1000 sq ft of hardwood flooring, 350 ft of baseboard trim, 350 feet of door stop and 10 sq ft of tile in front of a fireplace. Upon completion, the rooms looked fabulous for 2 reasons. One was the natural warmth and elegance of wood flooring and secondly, the workmanship of Rudy and his crew. The quality and professionalism of the job was no more evident then where the tile and wood met. The tile was raised to the level of the wood thickness and the 2 met each other at an odd angle. The transition between the 2 surfaces was seamless and flawless and no transition pieces were required to hide any shortcomings. I was most impressed with this part of the job as only an experienced professional would do such a perfect job. In addition, Rudy and his crew were very courteous and cleaned up the mess after each days work. Even though I invited them to bring their saws and cutters indoors because it was cold, they insisted on doing this part of the job outdoor to minimise the mess in my home. I would definitely recommend Rudy and his crew to anyone seeking to have their flooring done. He is reasonably priced and offers quality work in exchange. Thanks Rudy and crew. Great Job."
