Trace the movement
Locate whether the sound comes from a tread, riser, stringer connection or a moving fastener.
Finally, some peace and quiet from your stairs.

Select fastening, blocking or joint treatment based on the moving connection—not the sound alone.

Most squeaky stairs aren't a sign of a major problem, but they sure are a nuisance. The noise usually comes from friction. As your house settles and humidity levels change through our Ontario seasons, the wooden parts of your staircase—the treads (where you step) and the risers (the vertical part)—can shrink a tiny bit. This creates small gaps. When you step on the stair, the wood pieces rub against each other or against the nails and stringers, causing that familiar squeak.
Sometimes it's a loose tread, other times it's a riser that's pulled away from the tread above it. Finding the exact source of the squeak is the key to a lasting repair, and that's what we do best. We don't just put a band-aid on it; we find the root cause to silence it for good.
Fixing squeaky stairs doesn't have to be a huge, messy project. Our approach is focused and efficient. First, we'll walk the stairs with you to identify every single squeak. Then, we get to work securing the loose components. Depending on your staircase, we might work from underneath if it's accessible, or we use specialized, low-profile screws and adhesives from the top. We have techniques that work for hardwood, carpeted, or runner-covered stairs, always making sure to be as discreet as possible.
We're not here to sell you a brand new staircase. We're here to provide an affordable and effective repair that solves the problem. You'll be amazed at the difference it makes when you can sneak downstairs for a midnight snack without announcing it to everyone in the house!

"Rudy was extremely professional and efficient. We were on a very tight timeline and he was able to help us go from quote to full install in 5 days. His team was very professional and they did a good job tiding up after themselves. Our floors look amazing. I would highly recommend using this company, they are all the things you could ask for in a contractor; polite, neat, reasonably priced and timely. Thank you so much again Rudy for all your great work!"
