Check scratch depth
Determine whether the mark is in the surface finish, colour layer or the wood itself.
Fixing Scratched Hardwood. Built to Last.
Determine whether the mark is in the surface finish, colour layer or the wood itself.
Match the wood species, colour, sheen and existing finish before selecting a repair approach.
Compare a localized treatment with broader refinishing when surrounding wear or colour variation will remain visible.

We don't believe in quick fixes that fail in a few months. Our process is straightforward and effective. First, we assess the damage to determine the depth and type of scratch. For surface-level scuffs, a professional buffing and re-coating of the affected area is often enough. This blends the finish and removes the mark without affecting the wood itself.
For deeper gouges that have penetrated the finish and damaged the wood, we take a more direct approach. We carefully clean the area, then use a high-quality, durable wood filler that is color-matched to your floor. Once set, it's sanded perfectly flush with the surrounding surface. We then meticulously apply stain and a protective finish to match the original sheen and texture. The result is a carefully blended repair that's built to withstand foot traffic.
Store-bought wax sticks and markers are temporary solutions at best. They fill a scratch but don't bond with the wood or protect it. These fixes often wear away quickly or collect dirt, making the scratch look worse than before. A professional repair uses materials that cure and harden, becoming a permanent part of your floor. We use commercial-grade products that provide a tough, long-lasting finish you can't get from a hardware store kit.
If your floor has a few isolated scratches, gouges, or damaged spots, targeted repair is the most logical and cost-effective option. It saves you the time, expense, and major disruption of sanding down your entire floor. A full refinish is only necessary when the damage is widespread across the majority of the room or the finish is failing everywhere. We'll give you an honest assessment. If a simple repair is all you need, that’s all we’ll recommend. Our focus is providing the right solution for your specific problem. Call us at (647) 898-7839 to discuss your floors.
Repair expectations: Repair appearance depends on the condition of the surrounding floor and the availability of compatible matching material.
