Baseboards aren't just for looks. They are a functional part of your flooring system, protecting the bottom of your drywall from damage. A proper installation hides the necessary expansion gap left for laminate or hardwood, giving your room a finished, clean appearance. We install baseboards that are straight, secure, and built to handle daily life in your home. It’s a small detail that makes a big difference in the durability and look of your space.
Our Installation Process
We measure each wall and choose mitred, coped or joined details to suit the profile and corner. The written quote identifies whether removal, supply, nail-hole filling, caulking, priming or final painting is included.
Once the trim is installed, the job isn't done. We fill all nail holes and caulk the top edge where the baseboard meets the wall. This hides any small imperfections in the drywall and creates a smooth, paint-ready surface. The result is a solid, continuous line around your room with no unsightly gaps.
Material Choices: MDF vs. Wood
You have a couple of solid choices for materials. Medium-Density Fibreboard (MDF) is the most common. It's affordable, durable, and comes pre-primed, making it easy to paint. MDF is manufactured for consistent dimensions, but its performance still depends on product quality, room moisture and installation conditions. For most indoor applications, it's the practical choice.
Solid wood, like pine or oak, is another option. It's ideal if you want a stained finish to match your hardwood floors. Wood is tougher against direct impact but can be more susceptible to humidity changes. We can discuss which material makes the most sense for your home and budget.

"My project was a little over 1000 sq ft of hardwood flooring, 350 ft of baseboard trim, 350 feet of door stop and 10 sq ft of tile in front of a fireplace. Upon completion, the rooms looked fabulous for 2 reasons. One was the natural warmth and elegance of wood flooring and secondly, the workmanship of Rudy and his crew. The quality and professionalism of the job was no more evident then where the tile and wood met. The tile was raised to the level of the wood thickness and the 2 met each other at an odd angle. The transition between the 2 surfaces was seamless and flawless and no transition pieces were required to hide any shortcomings. I was most impressed with this part of the job as only an experienced professional would do such a perfect job.
